MKS Instruments Inc 2025 Spring/Summer Undergraduate Co-op - Engineering Intern in Bozeman, Montana

A Day in the Life at MKS:

As an Engineering Intern at MKS Instruments, you will partner with the research and development team to support new product development and/or sustaining existing products. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager.

This position is anticipated to start in January 2025 and be part-time during the spring with the possibility to become full-time during the summer.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Troubleshoot scientific instrumentation and recommend solutions.

  • Engage in design reviews to share knowledge with other engineers.

  • Use computer aided design software such as Altium Designer, Zemax OpticStudio, or Solid Works to develop or improve existing designs.

  • Test products to verify they meet functional specifications and design requirements.

  • Engage with MKS suppliers to get information on their products pertinent to design and compliance requirements.

  • Improve documentation (drawings, work instructions, bills of materials) in order to support product manufacturing.

Skills You Bring:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or relevant majors

  • Interest in pursuing a career in the design and development of electro-optical instrumentation.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits:

MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
