General Statement

The goal of the Montana 4-H Foundation is to help 4-H members by raising private funds, managing financial resources and partnering with Montana State University Extension to fund educational opportunities for Montana 4-H youth, volunteer leaders, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain current and accurate financial records for the 4-H Foundation.

  • Provide regular financial reports and process distribution of funds.

  • Database management.

  • Manage daily office operations.

  • Provide customer support to the public and county level administrative assistants in relation to the programs and operations of the 4-H Foundation.

  • Organize and coordinate logistics for 4-H Foundation meetings, programs, and functions.

  • Organize logistics of appeals and reports requested by the Executive Director.

  • Manage annual merchandise sales.

  • Supervise student workers.

    Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of business management and operations.

  • Demonstrated competence organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional attitude.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to self-correct.

  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office software (or similar), especially Excel and Word, and ability to learn new software programs.

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Social Media and promotional experience.

  • Proficient with QuickBooks.

    The Successful Candidate Will

  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and bookkeeping practices.

  • Knowledge of database systems.

  • Ability to accurately process financial information and to communicate orally or in writing with faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Keep up to date on all upcoming 4-H activities and events in order to respond to questions and requests.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral format.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to perform basic office functions.

  • Ability to grow in the position and enhance operational procedures.

  • Ability to maintain and improve customer service.
