Position Summary

The City of Bozeman was awarded a grant to launch a misdemeanor DUI Treatment Court. The BRIDGERS DUI Treatment Court will divert individuals facing misdemeanor DUI charges away from incarceration and into a treatment program. The leadership team planning this court seeks the guidance of two Bozeman community members to serve as Community Liaisons. Community Liaisons will offer the BRIDGERS Court leadership team valuable perspectives and guidance to the development of the program’s policies and procedures in the coming months. This position will remain active on the leadership team in the BRIDGERS Court’s initial 4 years as the court begins to accept cases, providing input that ensures Bozeman’s marginalized communities have fair access to and treatment in the program.

Community Liaisons are trusted leaders and relationship builders in recovery, underrepresented, or diversion court communities. The goal of Community Liaisons is to elevate voices and increase awareness of underrepresented groups in the development and implementation of the BRIDGERS Court program. The City of Bozeman is looking for two Community Liaisons to help reach different underrepresented groups including but not limited to those with experience navigating the justice system, in the Spanish-speaking community, low-income households, BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) households, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities.
