Brief Position Overview
The Student Parent Support ( SPS ) Coordinator will provide a variety of supports to MSU student parents as part of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School ( CCAMPIS ) grant. The SPS Coordinator will work collaboratively with MSU Student Success, including the Office of Student Engagement and Off Campus Student Life to identify on- and off-campus childcare, parenting, mental health, and financial resources to support student parent well-being.

General Statement
The Student Parent Support ( SPS ) Coordinator will provide a variety of supports to MSU student parents as part of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School ( CCAMPIS ) grant. The SPS Coordinator will work collaboratively with MSU Student Success, including the Office of Student Engagement and Off Campus Student Life to identify on- and off-campus childcare, parenting, mental health, and financial resources to support student parent well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities
Correspond and meet with MSU student parents to determine support needs.
Refer student parents to appropriate support resources on and off-campus, including but not limited to childcare, parenting, mental health, and financial resources.
Establish partnerships with on and off-campus childcare programs to match student parents with appropriate childcare options.
Support Students Raising Children club leadership to plan and deliver parent engagement events and functions.
Participate in monthly CCAMPIS leadership meetings.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Human Development & Family Science, Child Development, or related fieldor a combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Leadership and/or program coordination experience.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of on and off-campus supports available to student parents.
Experience working with parents in early childhood education and childcare settings .
Experience in event planning.
The Successful Candidate Will
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other departments and staff across campus.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as work effectively as a member of a team.
Demonstrate competence organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and support student parents, childcare professionals, and other members of the CCAMPIS leadership team effectively and confidently.
