Bozeman Health Certified Nurse Midwife in Bozeman, Montana

Bozeman Health Medical Group is now hiring a certified nurse midwife (CNM) to join a large and expanding women’s specialty practice that includes obstetrics, gynecology, urogynecology, maternal fetal medicine and integrated behavioral health. The CNMs at Bozeman Health provide full spectrum women's health to include general gynecology care and all stages of obstetrics- prenatal, intra-partum and postpartum working collaboratively with the physician group while maintaining a CNM patient panel as a primary obstetric provider. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of labor and delivery nursing experience and a minimum of 2 years midwifery experience.

Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will function as an independent healthcare provider working collaboratively with physicians and other members of a multidisciplinary health care team, to provide comprehensive care to women across the lifespan, including during pregnancy, while demonstrating a high degree of clinical expertise. Provides direct individualized patient care and treatment with responsibility for assessing, examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patient's current health condition and developing short and long-term goals and treatment plans. Functions within the defined scope of clinical practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, certification, regulations, institutional policy and practice agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree

  • Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)

  • Montana Licensure (APRN) with prescriptive authority

  • DEA License

  • Current Board Certification as Nurse Midwife (CNM)

  • American Heart Association BLS

  • 3 years of RN experience

  • Preferred: 3-5 years of labor and delivery RN experience

  • Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of Nurse Midwifery experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides quality, efficient and effective evidence based patient care, consultation as requested, advisement and/or initiation of treatment plans while following standard of care within specialty scope of practice.

  • Directs patient care by examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patient's current health condition, performing comprehensive admission history and physical exams, consultative notes, admission and discharge summaries, progress notes, writing orders and prescriptions and performing and or assisting with procedures and providing assistance with operative cases per defined scope of practice for specialty area.

  • Financially responsible for all aspects relating to transcription/coding.

  • Participates in quality/performance initiatives, research activities, education, the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines as indicated while evaluating and implements the standards of care within the area of specialization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced math skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret and/or present complex data.

  • Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment
