The Community Food Co-op Co-op Recruiting Specialist in Bozeman, Montana
Part-Time to Full-Time Position Available: Up to 30 hours per week. Shifts are Saturday-Tuesday with flexible shift times. Wage DOE.Purpose: Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and HR Specialists in support of the entire organization, with duties in recruitment, talent development, document creation and maintenance, information tracking, training, and special projects.GeneralMaintain working knowledge of and follow established CFC policies and procedures.Maintain complete confidentiality and professional boundaries with regard to all HR department matters including payroll, benefits, and personnel information and issues.Maintain working knowledge of HR software (including Paycom and Orbital Shift), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel primarily), and the Co-op’s protocols related to electronic document creation and storage.Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on HR processes to both ensure excellent communication and accountability between the HR department and Co-op managers and staff.Stay up to date on basic working knowledge of employment law, particularly related to hiring.Refer staff and managers to the HR Manager for assistance and guidance outside of explicit responsibilities except when directed otherwise by the HR Manager.Complete other duties as assigned.RecruitmentWork with HR Specialists and HR Manager to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise recruiting strategies, including identification of under-utilized recruiting channels, social media & web presence, job descriptions, and candidate engagement, etc. to ensure excellent sourcing, screening, hiring, and integration into the organization.Maintain fluency in applicant tracking software and utilize to meet service and efficiency goals in recruiting.Maintain knowledge of wages and employee benefits in the Bozeman market and grocery industry to ensure successful employee recruitment and retention.Remain current on recruitment channel options and assist in creating and/or identifying additional channels.Work closely with hiring managers to understand and meet their recruiting needs, establish timely communication, share market insights, and maintain the integrity of the hiring process.Participate in creating interview questions to ensure successful employee recruitment.Enthusiastically represent the organization and convey the mission, vision, and culture to all candidates.Conduct recruitment procedures to ensure that qualified applicants are hired promptly, following established procedures and employment law, including:Equal Employment Opportunity practices.Communicate with managers to develop timelines for recruitment for each position, coordinate timing of each process with orientation schedule for efficient use of time.Place ads and postings to attract successful candidates.Acknowledge all applicants in a timely manner.Conduct initial screenings and interviews using established procedures.Check references as requested by the HR Manager.Communicate with hiring managers throughout the process and share process challenges and other feedback with the HR manager as necessary.Talent DevelopmentConduct new employee orientations (pre and full orientation) to ensure employees have the information and resources they need to successfully navigate the Co-op’s policies and culture.Work with HR Manager to identify and remedy gaps in onboarding procedures or other training processes.Participate in and conductHR Document Creation and MaintenanceCreate and maintain new documents, tracking, and other tools, policies, etc. in collaboration with HR Manager.Ensure that all files and all related documents are updated following a revision or new program/system.Work with the HR Specialists to maintain up-to-date documents and files, utilizing a revision tracking system, for all HR-related documents.Assist HR Manager with job description creation and maintenance as directed.Assist in HR and Black Box document pick-up, administration, and tracking.QualificationsExperience or education in basic HR practices that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet all expectations listed above. Hiring and/or supervision experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated integrity with regard to confidential information; ability to exercise good judgment and absolute discretion in handling confidential materials and matters. Ability to understand and operate within professional boundaries related to job duties.Fluency using MS Office desired, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, with skills sufficient to communicate, develop, and maintain documents with high degree of accuracy.Familiarity with Paycom HR Management SoftwareAbility to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer and work in a shared office space.Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. throughout shift, and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
