Position Summary:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Operates a CT scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine quality inspections and quality control maintenance on scanner as recommended by the manufacturer and/or organizational policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T.(R) & advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT)
American Heart Association BLS required within 60 days of hire
2 Years of radiology experience as a registered technologist
Preferred: 1 year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II)
Essential Job Functions:
Performs CT exams and procedures for NICU, CCU, ED and other hospital departments as requested by the medical staff
Assists the Radiologist and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
Retrieves written orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of exams and procedures.
Participates in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of the quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
Works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting
Expectation to support and train peers.
Participates in a call rotation with peers
Must be willing to work variable shifts and holidays as required
