General Statement
The MSU Child Development Center is Montana’s first preschool and has been continuously operating since the 1920s. Licensed by the State of Montana and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the preschool is a laboratory site for Montana State University’s Department of Health and Human Development, including the Early Childhood Education & Child Services (ECE & CS) academic program. The MSU Child Development Center maintains a learning, discovery, and engagement mission for MSU students, faculty, and community members.
The Managing Director will provide administration, leadership, and supervision of the MSU Child Development Center and will report to the ECE & CS academic program under the supervision of the HHD Department Head.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Science, or related degree
Three years of professional experience as a teacher in a licensed or registered early care and education program working with preschool-aged children and their families
Experience providing program administration and fiscal management in an early care and education setting
Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience
Demonstrated ability to organize, initiate, and follow-through on projects independently
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Experience working in a NAEYC-accredited early childhood program.
Knowledge of Montana childcare licensing regulations

Must certify as Director qualified through Montana DPHHS in the licensing time requirement.
