The Disabled Veteran Outreach Coordinator (DVOP) will serve our area’s disabled veterans, providing intensive services and facilitating job placement to meet the employment and training needs of veterans, prioritizing service to the special disabled veterans, other disabled veterans, and other categories of veterans. As a DVOP in our Job Service – Bozeman office, you will: * Provide outcome-based, client specific services to a socio-economically diverse population and cultures, with skill levels ranging from seasoned professionals to those new to the workforce. * Deliver specialized employment services and access to supportive programs for those experiencing severe barriers to employment. * Build and maintain relationships with businesses, education, economic development and other community partners. * Provide a broad array of customized services to businesses in such areas as worker recruitment & retention, employment law, economic trends and workforce solutions including human resource practices. In other words, you will help put them on a path to success! What is it about you that makes you the right person for this opportunity? Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including a degree in a field such as business, public administration, social work and a year of related experience or possibly even no degree but 5 years of relevant experience that has prepared you for this opportunity. Other combinations may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time: * Basic concepts of workforce development. * Knowledge of local social service agencies and community resources. * De-escalation skills. * Mediation skills. * Veterans benefits and resources Skill in: * Using a variety of computer software * Solution-based, problem-solving. * Taking initiative. * Time-management. * Organization; multi-tasking; detail-oriented. * Effective oral and written communication to include presentation to large audiences * Interviewing others to obtain information and insight. * Accurately and timely data entry of client and business engagement. * Helping others identify and achieve goals. * Assisting others who are struggling personally or professionally to access assistance.
