General Statement

The Gianforte School of Computing, housed in the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will help develop and teach senior-level and graduate-level cybersecurity courses, teach other computer science courses consistent with their background and engage in service activities. Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and teach senior-level and graduate-level cybersecurity courses; teach other computer science courses consistent with the candidate’s background; mentor and advise students; and participate in relevant service activities.

We hope to attract applicants who can teach in a diverse University community and have demonstrated ability in helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Relevant degree or work experience in cybersecurity.

Currency in cybersecurity.

Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Ability to help develop and teach senior-level and graduate-level cybersecurity courses.

Familiarity with the NICE Framework and/or CAE in Cybersecurity certification.

Prior teaching experience.

The Program

The Department

The Gianforte School of Computing, housed in the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering, offers PhD, MS, BS and BA degrees in Computer Science. Approximately 500 BS students, 25 MS students and 25 PhD students are supported by 16 full time faculty. Due to the pervasive nature of computing, our collaborators come from a wide range of academic departments, campus research centers and industry. We are on an exciting growth trajectory that enabled us to transition from a Computer Science Department into a School of Computing in Fall 2016. We anticipate continuing growth as computing becomes increasingly instrumental to the success of the university’s research enterprise and to the region’s burgeoning industry.

The College

The Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering comprises five academic units – Chemical & Biological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, the Gianforte School of Computing, and Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, and is home to the Center for Biofilm Engineering ( CBE ), Western Transportation Institute ( WTI ), Montana Microfabrication Facility ( MMF ), Subzero Science and Engineering Research Facility, Montana Manufacturing Extension Center ( MMEC ), Montana Engineering Education Research Center ( MEERC ), and Army and Air Force ROTC Units. The College enrolls 3,700 students. Approximately 250 of those students are pursuing PhD or MS degrees through one of the five academic units.

With a wide array of research programs in progress, college of engineering faculty and students have garnered an impressive number of awards. In recent years, college of engineering students have been recognized with a number of prestigious awards, including two Rhodes Scholarships, a Marshall Fellowship, a Gates-Cambridge Fellowship, and numerous Goldwater scholarships. The college is housed across four buildings, including Norm Asbjornson Hall, a platinum- LEED certified building that opened in 2019 and is helping to transform engineering education.
