NORTHWESTERN ENERGY IT Project Manager in BOZEMAN, Montana
Locations in Montana and South Dakota will be considered - Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena or Missoula
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year accredited college in associated discipline such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or other relevant degree; an equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be considered
- Four or more years of experience in IT project and program management
- Advanced level technical skills including comprehensive understanding of project management and IT project implementation
- Ability to effectively lead multiple projects and tasks at one time
- Proven ability to inspire and lead teams, driving engagement and success
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership; driving a project from inception to completion
- Thorough grasp of solution evaluation and IT project execution
- Skilled collaborator with a results-driven and innovative mindset
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, security and accountability in IT practices
- Consistently deliver exceptional results while driving continuous improvement
- Highly organized and demonstrate strong written/oral communication and documentation skills
- Ability to do some travel, including day trips and overnight will be required, depending on work location and experience
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or Project Management Professional (PMP), or other equivalent certification preferred
- Experience leading complex technical projects that require coordination with multiple external vendors and consultants preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Plan, execute and successfully close moderate to complex IT projects and programs
- Lead and coordinate cross-business unit projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Effectively manage projects with minimal guidance
- Evaluate current solutions against market standards to enhance competitiveness and efficiency
- Design, build and refine optimal processes and solutions to support technological advancements
- Define technical design with solution architects and product support teams focusing on scalability, reliability, security, maintainability, supportability and agility
- Lead process improvement initiatives and drive change management efforts
- Provide cross-training and mentorship to enhance team capabilities and technical proficiency
- Forecast project capital and expense budgets, track and report actuals
- Manage team project portfolio, collaborate with management on prioritization and efficiency strategies, and ensure appropriate resource leveling
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including company leadership, adapting messages to suit the audience
- Cultivate trusting relationships across the organization to promote collaboration and achieve shared goals
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver project goals effectively
- Evaluate and recommend optimal technical application solutions to support organizational objectives
- Adhere to company safety and security standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$83,600 to $125,400 annually, depending on experience.
