Farm Service Agency Key Program Technician in Bozeman, Montana

Summary County Office location in Montana will be determined after selection. Major responsibilities for this KEY Program Technician position would include serving as an expert in the following areas: Administrative and Disaster Assistance, Price Support and Conservation Programs. Responsibilities Assists the State Office with projects as assigned. Serve as a central resource for expert guidance, coordination, and assistance at the county office level with a district-wide or statewide collaboration for assigned programs. Explains procedures, program regulations and forms in the assigned programs to agency personnel. Provides guidance on web-based software applications to Program Technicians. Develops and contributes creative ideas and solutions to program operations and/or issues resulting in added value to the State's products and services. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualifications are in accordance with requirements in Handbook 27-PM. Applicants must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date in the announcement, including the following specialized experience and/or education, as identified below: You may start at the CO-08 level if you have the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience directly related to the functions of the position to be filled equivalent to the CO-07 in FSA County service or GS-07 in FSA Federal service. Experience that shows your ability to perform progressively more complex, responsible, or difficult duties: and that shows your ability to learn the specific work of this position. Education Additional Information Veterans preference does not apply since this position is being advertised under Title 7 authorities. Relocation expenses are not authorized. When promotion potential is shown, the agency is not making a commitment and is not obligated to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval.
