Bozeman Health Lab Assistant (Casual Call) in Bozeman, Montana
Position Summary:
The Lab Assistant processes all types of clinical specimens, to include centrifugation and distribution to the appropriate area. Assesses specimens for quality and appropriateness during the pre-analytical process and prepares samples appropriately for loading on analyzers. They may receive more training in some specific areas in order to accommodate specific job assisgnments.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Medical experience
Essential Job Functions:
Handles, processes and distributes lab specimens
Processes send-out orders and packages for shipment
Monitors send-out pending lists and reconciles against specimens
Provides customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment
Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills
