Bozeman Health MRI Tech Acute Care in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Acute Care Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Performs MRI procedures, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and archives imaging data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Certified MRI Technician certification

  • American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire

  • Two (2) years of MRI previous experience in a hospital setting

  • Demonstrates competencies to perform emergency/trauma MRI procedures that require anesthesia and other procedural MRI exams for all populations including Neonates, Pediatrics, and adults

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs MRI exams and procedures for NICU, CCU, ED and other hospital departments as requested by medical staff.

  • Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.

  • Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.

  • Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.

  • Retrieves and files exam jackets, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of MRI exams and procedures.

  • Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.

  • Works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.

  • Expectation to support and train peers.

  • Works varied shifts and participates in call rotation as scheduled and/or needed
