LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
Certified Nurse Assistant or equivalent
Previous healthcare experience
KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:
Personal Computers, hardware and basic software programs including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Personal patient care (bathing, shaving, oral, perineal, catheter, bowel, bladder)
Proper and safe use of equipment such as BP monitor.
Cleanliness and safety
Stocking according to direction
Oral and written communication skills

COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULTY:
A nurse aide works directly under the team leader. He/she has the freedom to act independently only in following established methods and techniques.
50% Time Spent - Performs tasks in meeting the patient's physical needs.
20% Time Spent - Reports observations and patient comments to the nurse. Gives close attention to detail in providing care and reporting patient condition changes to the nurse.
10% Time Spent - Cleans equipment and requests repair when needed.
10% Time Spent - Documents I&O, Vital Signs, etc as requested.
10% Time Spent - Assists as requested by nursing, including hourly rounding on the patient in conjunction with the nurse.
