Bozeman Health Oncology Scheduler in Bozeman, Montana
Position Summary:
The Scheduler is responsible for initiating the process of scheduling patient exams and procedures. Coordinates with the necessary departments and physician offices to schedule procedures and communicate special requests. Facilitates retention of required patient records prior to day of procedure. Assembles charts with essential paperwork and informed consents. Collaborates with the providers to ensure completion of work needed prior to exam or procedure.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Previous experience in the medical field
Preferred: Previous medical office scheduling experience
Essential Job Functions:
Performs scheduling duties as requested by the medical staff working with patients/staff for the appropriate scheduled time. Process referrals, obtains current insurance and demographic information, consents, required paperwork, and answers patient questions. Obtains prior authorizations.
Analyzes patient orders prior to scheduling, for correct exam, diagnosis and physician signature. Calls physician to clarify order if the order is questionable.
Reviews patient history to ensure patient safety standards are being met prior to completion of exam or procedure.
Coordinates procedures with various departments as needed for patient convenience.
Performs general offices duties as needed.
