Bozeman Health PACS Administrator in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

Responsible for the daily operations of the assigned Picture Archiving and Communication systems (PACS). Oversees the system application lifecycle to include maintenance, systems testing, upgrading and installing. Ensures systems are maintained in accordance with Bozeman Health standards. Acts as a liaison with the departments and customers when considering changes, integrations with or implementation of supported systems and modalities. Maintains positive vendor relationships. Responsible for department imaging related software and ancillary software and applications pertaining to imaging.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; or High School Diploma and equivalent experience (4 years)

  • PACS certification, or completed within two years of hire

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with IT systems support: desktop, Linux/Windows OS

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with network technologies and concepts

  • Experience with software performance modification

  • Preferred: PACS administration certificate

  • Preferred: ITIL foundation

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with Bozeman Health staff and vendors in resolving a variety of network and hardware access and technical issues

  • Configures, installs, and supports department applications, hardware, and systems updates

  • Interacts and communicates with physicians, support staff, and other health care professionals to facilitate department operations and establish a standard of care

  • Assists other IS staff with resolution of technical and process issues

  • Establishes and monitors policies to maintain records as required to ensure quality patient care, meet hospital policies, and correspond to the requirements of regulating agencies

  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including after hours on call duties as needed

  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
