Brief Position Overview
The Parking Shuttle and Events Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the university’s parking shuttle services, event parking, and event transportation logistics. This role ensures efficient, safe, and reliable shuttle operations while coordinating transportation and parking for university events. The manager will collaborate with various departments to support the transportation and parking needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

General Statement

Duties and Responsibilities
Shuttle Operations Management
Oversee daily operations of the university’s shuttle services, ensuring punctuality, safety, and reliability.
Develop and implement schedules, routes, and procedures to optimize shuttle service efficiency.
Monitor shuttle performance and address any issues related to service delivery, maintenance, and driver conduct.
Event Parking Coordination
Plan and manage parking logistics for university events, including commencement, athletic events, conferences, and other large gatherings.
Collaborate with event organizers to understand transportation and parking needs and provide effective solutions.
Coordinate with external transportation vendors and parking services as needed for special events.
Develop and implement event-specific parking plans, including signage, staffing, and traffic flow strategies.
Staff Supervision and Development
Recruit, train, and supervise shuttle drivers, event parking attendants, and support staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to ensure high standards of service.
Foster a positive and safe work environment for all transportation and parking personnel.
Compliance and Safety
Ensure all transportation and parking services comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified risks or issues.
Customer Service and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for shuttle and event parking inquiries.
Address and resolve complaints or issues from students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding transportation and parking services.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect and analyze data on shuttle usage and event parking needs.
Prepare and present reports on transportation and parking performance and trends to MSUPD leadership.
Use data to make informed decisions and improvements to transportation and parking services.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated experience working in transportation management, event coordination, or a related area. Bachelor’s degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Proven experience in managing a team and overseeing operations.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of transportation and parking regulations and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience in a university or large campus environment.
Certification in transportation, event planning, or parking management.
The Successful Candidate Will
Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Public Safety Policy (http://www.montana.edu/clery/) and Crime Statistics (http://www.montana.edu/police/crime-statistics.html) .
This position routinely works overtime assignments to assist with parking for special campus and athletic events.
Must pass an in-depth background investigation prior to final employment offer.
Must possess and maintain the ability to give credible testimony in a court of law.
Must possess, or be able to obtain within six months, a valid Montana driver license and have an acceptable driver record (less than 12 points).
Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
