Bozeman Health PHLEBOTOMIST in Bozeman, Montana
Working under general supervision, the phlebotomist will collect blood and body fluids, perform EKG's, communicate essential information to co-workers, maintain a professional manner in dealing with patients and co-workers, perform clerical duties such as filing, telephone communication and information system work, perform courier services to BDH clients and perform DOT urine collections and breath alcohol testing.
- High School graduate (or equivalent).
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
- It is expected that the applicant will become certified as a DOT-urine drug screen collector and breath alcohol tester within 6 months of hire.
All training and training opportunities are provided by BDH. Training occurs at least every 6 months.
KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:
Personal Computers, hardware and basic software programs.
Blood collection techniques and awareness of factors that contribute to specimen integrity.
EKG performance techniques and awareness of factors that contribute to proper testing.
Urine Drug testing collection techniques.
Breath Alcohol testing techniques.
Evidence of good communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
Collecting blood from venous, capillary and arterial sources.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to work independently

35% Time Spent - Collects blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings.

Answers the telephone and, with a minimum of transfers, gets answers to callers' questions.
