Radiology Limited Permit Technician - Bozeman

BOZEMAN RADIOLOGY - 7250 (BILLINGS CLINIC BOZEMAN AMBULATORY)

Shift: Day

Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Non-Exempt)

Starting Wage DOE

A limited permit technologist can perform basic imaging allowing the registered technologist the opportunity to perform advanced examinations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures radiological services provided are in compliance with standards established by the institution, state and according to limited permit State statute.

  • Performs non-complex procedures and radiographs using the appropriate department routine as ordered.

  • Performs examinations using all general radiographic equipment.

  • Ensures all exams are checked by the registered radiologic technologist for critique and approval.

  • Prepares the room, equipment and supplies as dictated by the particular examination or patient needs and processes the necessary radiographs.

  • Prepares the patient for the examination by ensuring the patient is attired properly, explains the examination to the patient and transfers and positions the patient as needed.

  • Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety for patients, self and co-workers.

  • Informs management, lead technologist, or registered radiology tech of any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians.

  • Prepare images for reading by physician as well as contact any additional physicians for a second opinion if needed.

  • Prepares for the day by assuring that all medical records, tests results and imaging are available for the physician.

  • Assists with the application of Quality Improvement Program.

  • Assists with technique chart and stocks and cleans room as needed.

  • Assists the patient at the end of the examination.

  • Maintains adequate inventory of all required supplies by informing appropriate personnel for acquisition.

  • Performs a variety of clerical and filing tasks, as required, such as working up patients information, image file maintenance, and completing the appropriate paperwork following each examination.

  • May assist in front desk duties by answering phones and scheduling and directing patients

  • Identifies need and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Radiologic Technology educational program.

Experience

  • Experience in a health related field or completion of one (1) year in a Radiologic Technology educational program.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Current Montana state X-Ray Limited Permit At hire
