Bozeman Health Registered Sleep Lab Tech (RPSGT) in Bozeman, Montana
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing all aspects of sleep disorders testing, refer to policy manual for specific instructions/guidelines. Follow established policies and procedures. Adhere to the standards of the job description and overall philosophy of Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. Perform a variety of standard protocols for sleep disorders testing, including setting up and monitoring the patient over a ten to twelve hour period. Operate and troubleshoot sleep lab equipment. The technician is alone during the testing period and must be able to resolve most equipment problems without assistance. Incorporate cultural and age appropriate care into all aspects of communication and patient care. According to physician orders, administer therapies to patients. Deal with a variety of tasks and situations at the same time. Score and evaluate polysomnograms. Provide education and inservices for outreach accounts and groups or individuals interested in sleep disorders. Monitor and assist in maintaining sleep lab equipment. Perform other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive attitude as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory care, or nursing
Montana Licensure (Respiratory Therapist) or Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
American Heart Association BLS
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT)
Preferred: Minimum of 24 months experience in sleep disorder testing with routine EEG preferred.
Preferred: Requires self-directed individual with ability to act independently under minimal supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
Sets up and monitors sleep disorders tests.
Assists and educates patients in sleep disorder diagnosis, equipment
and treatment.
May be required to scores and evaluates polysomnograms.
Acts as primary contact in providing physicians, patients and Outreach
accounts with diagnostic information and consultation regarding all
aspects of sleep disorders.
