General Statement
| The Student Employment Program Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive on-campus student employment program at MSU in close partnership with MSU campus employers. By leading this effort, the program manager must bring vision and intentionality to ensure MSU students have access to a high quality, high impact experiential learning opportunities at MSU . By serving the needs of MSU campus employers, this position will be an important conduit for student workforce development while ensuring students advance their foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities through this experiential learning program. Guided by an entrepreneurial service excellence approach, the Student Employment Program Manager will work directly with campus employer partners to receive and catalog job orders to identify the expected NACE competencies students can gain with each position. The Program Manager will assist with scheduling and supporting training sessions for campus employers and students to help advance leadership and NACE competency development opportunities. The Program Manager will also assist with micro-credentials, advancing NACE competencies for MSU students. The Student Employment Relations Manager will synthesize their knowledge of best-in-class marketing tactics, social media, employee recruitment software, HireABobcat.com, Banner, and MSU’s ATS system to scale hiring to 1000 students per semester for on-campus employment. As part of this role, the position will spend 25% of their time directly supporting Industry & Employer Relations. As part of the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success and a member of the Office of Career, Internship, & Student Employment Services team the Program Manager will also collaborate closely with the efforts of the Office of Financial Education, Office of Return to Learn, and the Office of Student Success.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages the overall campus student employment program.
• Oversees a robust marketing plan for students, parents, campus partners to generate awareness of program benefits and applications.
• Generates and monitors postings in HireABobcat.com to ensure positions are attractive and well-marketed, working closely with individual offices and departments to receive job orders.
• Assists departments with HR Paperwork management to include “hiring packets” (background check, E-pafs, I9’s etc. are complete).
• In partnership with MSU Human Resources inputs student employment positions in the MSU ATS system.
• Liaises with departments to manage strategic bonuses activity for longevity and excellence.
• Ensures student employment positions are tagged with NACE competencies and are tied to high quality and high impact experiential learning experiences.
• Promote and celebrate student and internship employment as part of larger retention and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts as outlined in MSU’s strategic plan
• Generates public celebrations and acknowledgements for excellence in student employment and employer mentorship at MSU (Pure-Gold-like celebrations).
• Provides leadership training opportunities for student employees with their campus employer/mentor.
• Assist with micro-credentials, advancing NACE competencies for MSU Students.
• Provides database oversight and serves as the point-of-contact for HireABobcat.com (a Handshake product) to ensure data integrity, access, utilization and updates.
• Collaborate with the campus community of employment trends, processes and procedures promoting student employment and work-study employment.
• Coordinates and leads logistics for special events and projects including on-campus recruiting, student employment recruitment events, etc.
• Provide training to students and on campus employers on how to use HireABobcat.com, and other program elements.
• Works collaboratively with AYCSS staff and administration to develop and employ new methods to advance student experiential learning at MSU .
• Ensures service excellence, soundness of practice and program metrics are achieved and accurately recorded.
• Participates and actively engage in professional learning communities and staff training and development to improve student outcomes.
• Works in conjunction with various campus constituents on initiatives and partnerships.
• Assist with Systems Management and JLD as assigned
• Assist with Industry & Employer Relation events including Career Fairs, Networking Events, and Info sessions.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience in program development, management, implementation and delivery assessment and with a high degree of professionalism.
Demonstrated technical competence using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software & relational databases with a willingness to learn additional department and MSU specific software and programs.
Demonstrated experience with, managing databases, analytics, and using quantitative metrics to baseline projects
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master’s degree.
Experience with labor and industry, recruiting, human resources or career/professional coaching or training.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple initiatives while working with various constituents bringing project to a successful completion.
Demonstrated experience with developing content and its delivery to various audiences.
Possess knowledge of the higher education system and related services.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
This position will require occasional scheduled evening and potential weekend hours to host events and interact with students.
