Job Title: Superintendent of Construction
Job Description
We are seeking a Superintendent for a project located in Babb, Montana. The project involves the construction of a diversion dam on the St. Mary's River for the Milk River irrigation project. The selected candidate will be the main point of contact for this project, managing five crews along with all sub-contractors. The ideal candidate must be trustworthy and confident working without supervision.
Responsibilities
Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for site readiness prior to crew mobilization.
Be two weeks ahead of the crew relative to site conditions and project readiness.
Discuss site details with the Project Engineer before the crew mobilizes and initiate the SOP process with the team.
Operate equipment for all tasks as needed.
Approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, and treat others with respect and consideration.
Provide quality products to customers while adhering to local regulations and requirements.
Be the first point of contact for field questions from the crew regarding jobs.
Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and attend weekly debriefings.
Ensure crews are present and in correct jobs, providing on-site assistance as needed.
Manage job material supply and delivery to sites, reduce waste, and procure occasional supplies.
Manage and submit paperwork timely, including job worksheets, crew performance reviews, staffing recommendations, policy acknowledgements, DVIRs, and city/county paperwork.
Assist with Procore documentation, including Daily Logs, T&M, Change Orders, and Cold Weather forms.
Check and assist with time entries in the field, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
Obtain and maintain a CDL, ensuring proficiency and safety with all equipment.
Ensure vehicle DVIRs are completed and turned in daily.
Assist with coordination and completion of equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Ensure crew safety at all times, adhering to OSHA construction regulations.
Conduct daily safety meetings and complete Job Safety Analysis.
Mentor and promote employees, providing training and development opportunities.
Empower crews with proper training and project preparation.
Coordinate schedules and issues with the Customer, Project Manager, and Operations Manager.
Plan daily jobs and resources, communicating plans effectively to all relevant parties.
Conduct internal pre-construction meetings and review plans with operators before mobilization.
Conduct daily site visits for site preparation and quality control.
Keep trucks and trailers organized and maintain an orderly job site.
Solve daily problems, including technical, crew, logistical, and customer issues.
Assist in safety meetings, safety review, and safety training.
Assist in estimates, planning, and scheduling for the company.
Assess crew training needs and plan training opportunities.

10+ years as a superintendent on commercial job sites managing four or more crews
5+ years of experience working with the Corps of Engineers

10+ years of civil or concrete experience
Ability to read construction documents including plans and specifications
Basic computer skills for email, web, and coordination
Strong customer service skills

Work Environment
This position involves work at construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. The work environment includes an office with a desk, break room, and bathroom. The dress code is business casual, with jeans acceptable. Business hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and the Superintendent should be on-premise by 8:00 AM unless prior approval is given. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines, with work hours often extending to 10 or more hours a day, 50 or more hours a week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
