Oracle Technical Program Manager - Operations Support Engineering in Bozeman, Montana

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

The Operations Support Engineering team is building new services that empower Oracle to provide customers with the experience they deserve. The team is responsible for reporting availability and quality of services to generate a feedback loop that continuously improves all cloud services. The engineering team builds tools to enable Operations Support to respond to incidents and customer issues quickly and efficiently. Operations Support Engineering provide data analytics to arm leadership with the information necessary to chart the right path for the organization. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class cloud infrastructure, platform and application experience.

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager with expertise and passion in building and driving an end to end product development strategy and processes to meet the needs of a diverse set of internal customers. /Job Responsibilities:/

As a Technical Program Manager in the Operations Support Engineering team you will own establishing relationships with our customer teams within the organization. You will be responsible for gathering requirements for tools and services that result in an improved customer experience. You will build mechanisms to continuously intake and prioritize requirements, and rapidly collect and incorporate feedback as new solutions are released. You should be comfortable taking ambiguous problem statements and driving clarity and consensus across a set of stakeholders. You need to have strong written and verbal communication. You value setting a clarity of expectations, then driving the team to meet those expectations. You need to be deeply invested in understanding the customer experience and creating customer empathy across the organization.

Candidate Profile:

• 5 - 10 years experience running cross-functional programs in a large software organization.

• Experience working in an infrastructure cloud environment and an understanding of how customers consume cloud services.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ability to build consensus across a diverse set of customers and internal engineering teams.

• Understanding of cloud operations, deployments, availability and the implications of operations practices.

• Demonstrated mastery developing programs to deliver a complex set of time bound technical products, and the ability to report status clearly while providing all the data necessary to make prioritization decisions.

Top 3 skill sets / technologies in the ideal candidate:

  1. Cross team program management in large distributed cloud environments.

  2. 5 - 10 years experience working on challenging issues with a self-starter / self-motivated attitude.

  3. Strong ownership and a demonstrated ability to build consensus across teams.
