Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated UX/UI Designer to join the Outdoor Performance platform. The Outdoor Performance strategic priorities are to be consumer-first focused, lead with power brands, and invest inward. The UX/UI Designer will be part of the Direct-to-Consumer team that will build the Outdoor Performance business by creating focus and power with the consumer.
As the UX/UI Designer, you will touch all phases of the creative process for the Outdoor Performance platform. You will support the project’s design lead in crafting visual experiences that are on-brand, compelling, and distinctive. Partnering closely with the Sr. UX/UI Designer, you will help bring ideas to life while creating a best-in-class experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for taking on complex problems, learning new tools and skills, and designing elegant, simple solutions that surprise and delight users.
This position reports to the Sr. UX/UI Designer and is based in Logan, Utah.
As the UX/UI Designer, you will have an opportunity to:
Communicate the branded experience through creative use design principles and design elements.
Define visual languages and design systems for branded digital experiences and maintain consistency throughout the experience.
Translate sketches and wireframes into visual compositions that make information compelling and easy to understand.
Oversee the design work for large-scale, long-term initiatives.
Articulate design ideas from sketches, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and other design artifacts.
Present design concepts to internal stakeholders.
Lead design discussions with the client leads and /or internal teams to explain design rationale and thought process, gather feedback and gain alignment.
Create high-fidelity screen mockups, comps, prototypes, and style guides.
Create design deliverables across all digital platforms for development and support implementation.
Review the quality of final product implementation with developers to ensure design accuracy.
Collaborate with technology and project management teams to provide QA commentary and design consultation to the client.
Give constructive critiques to improve the work of others.
Receive design critiques and apply necessary changes to improve existing design.
Participate in usability research to gather feedback for future design iterations.
Design for a spectrum of different users, including WCAG AA accessibility.
You have:
3-5 years of in-house or agency experience.
Advanced learning in design including Art School, a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Communication Design, Motion Design, and/or experience in related field.
Experience working with developers.
Strong knowledge of responsive web design principles.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design experience, including web and native projects.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Ability to articulate constructive design critiques and contribute ideas to improve other designers' work.
Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (Figma, Zeplin, Adobe CC).Flexible to learn new tools and assume new responsibilities.
Ability to manage work autonomously and lead projects as the only designer.
Experience managing complex design problems.
Combination of in-house and agency working experience.
Experience with illustrations and print, graphics, packaging design, or related disciplines.
Experience in motion design or animation.
Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $63,000.00 - $73,000.00
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
