Position Summary

Summer is almost here and the City of Bozeman is looking to hire a Water Conservation Short Term Worker to assist our Water Conservation team!

This person will be to assist with community outreach efforts, water-use assessments, and program development research. Job duties include assisting staff in the preparation and delivery of educational outreach events, engaging with community members at public events, collaboration with other city employees, administration of rebate and incentive programs, and assisting staff with water-use irrigation system assessments.

Applicants should be able to communicate effectively with others, educate community members at public events in a manner which is in accordance with the City's core values, be able and willing to work outside, employ good problem solving skills, and develop accurate findings for sprinkler system assessment reports. This position is a great opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of water conservation.

Bargaining Unit: Not Represented

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt

Work Week: Up to 40 hours/week. Generally 8:00am to 5:00pm

Supervisor: Water Conservation Specialist

Length of Assignment: not to exceed 90 working days or 520 hours, whichever comes first

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Must be of legal age to perform the duties of the position;

  • Some experience working with the public, public events, and basic office skills are desired, but not required;

  • Some education, experience and interest in Water Conservation is desired.
