Orientation and 1st Year experience:
Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and assessment of the new student orientation program
Oversight of the development, coordination, and implementation of all New Student Orientation sessions
This position selects, trains, recruit, supervises, and evaluates a team of student orientation leaders
Create and implement retention and engagement programming for new students with focus on new students living off campus throughout the year.
Collaborates with all student success areas to promote the successful transition of new students to Montana Tech.
Coordinate Week of Welcome events with the Director of Campus Life
Oversees and coordinates the scheduling of the Student Union Building, Mill, URC Poore Room and SSC facilities and services for both on and off campus organizations and clients
Works with groups from the beginning of the planning process to the completion of the event explaining policies and procedures along the way
Develop and implement policies and procedures for use of Conferencing services and facilities related to events, including developing and using tools that will help streamline processes
Serve as principal authority for addressing conflicting events that arise and with the advisement of the Director of Campus Life decide whether an event can be scheduled as requested
Establish efficient business practices to appropriately maximize conference revenue generation, including pricing structure and contract/billing/collection procedures, with oversight of scheduling; and,
Assist in the development of pricing structure, contract/billing/collection procedures, and revenue projections annually in conjunction with the Director of Campus Life and the University budgeting
Stay informed about potential events; and share related events tasks with student staff
Campus Life Office Responsibilities:
Oversees the selection, supervision and training of student staff working in the SUB and Mill Buildings
Serve on Divisional and University committees as assigned.
Completes reports and projects as requested by the Director of Campus Life
Maintain professional attitude and demeanor when working with University and external clients
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and external clients
Ability to remain calm under pressure and attend to last minute issues with decisiveness

Bachelor?s Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and off campus clients
Must be able to a work flexible schedule, which may include some evenings and weekends on events.
Knowledge of and the aptitude to learn and use computer scheduling and software and hardware
Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
Must possess excellent customer service skills
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Two or more years of experience working with organizing events
Must be able to lift 50lbs from ground level to a height of 4?6? and must be able to carry 30 lbs for a maximum of 30ft.
