Job Summary:

Operation and oversight of all equipment and processes within the foundry to support production and operations schedule. The Foundry Support Tech will take on the responsibility for upkeep of safety and housekeeping, maintaining quality, meeting production goals, new-hire training, and refresher training. Expected to be enthusiastically open to cross training and flexible to aid in other casting cells as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily operation of and duties related to the Vacuum Melt.

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of and ability to operate all cell equipment and processes including Autoclave, Vacuum Melt, Air Melt .

  • Supports the cell team s within the foundry in the daily workload and meeting the daily throughput goals, works with planning and management to ensure priorities are being worked.

  • Ensures the cell team is operating safely and keeping up with god housekeeping.

  • Perform and/or coordinate process set-up for any new or revised product introduced into the production cell including any necessary fixturing, equipment adjustments and modification, material handling solutions, etc.

  • Ensure operator maintenance is being performed on all equipment within the cell

  • Observes process and supporting equipment performance; reports out need for equipment repair or maintenance and/or initiates work orders

  • Coordinates all aspects of new employee training and certification in designated cell including; identifying trainer, EHS training, production certification training, meeting training milestones

  • Responds to fluctuating workload, priorities, and directives; effectively engages team to do the same.

  • Keeps work area clean and free from debris and leads the cell to do the same.

  • Follows additional instructions and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Willing to work overtime to meet the needs of the business

    Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Well versed and proficient in all processes, product families, equipment, etc. within the foundry operations to include, but not limited to Autoclave, VIM, Post cast, Air melt.

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply operating procedures, drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards.

  • Certified as L2 minimum within the Vim/Air melt cell

  • Teamwork oriented

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and to climb stairs.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Experience with computer based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

    Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
