NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Gas SCADA Engineer or Analyst in BUTTE, Montana

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

ENGINEER REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, Natural Gas Engineering, Control System Engineering

OR

ANALYST REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Science or equivalent years of experience

PLUS:

  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • General knowledge of DOT, ASME, API, NEC, OSHA terms and guidelines
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to all operating groups upon short notice a must
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
  • Gas Measurement/SCADA experience desired
  • Working knowledge of the methods and calculations necessary to design appropriate metering and regulating stations is preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge or commonly used concepts, practices, procedures towards safe and creative gas SCADA/measurement solutions is desired

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
  • Design and implement Gas SCADA displays, alarming, RTU programming and data exchange
  • Work without direct supervision and serve as a mentor/instructor to others
  • Work in field operating conditions as necessary

ADDITIONAL ENGINEER FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide engineering design, support, training and troubleshooting related to Gas Transmission & Storage facilities
  • Must understand 49 Code of Federal Regulation related to oil and gas parts 191 & 192
  • Assist in design of metering and regulating stations
  • Design pressure and flow control systems on the Gas SCADA system and programs PID loop
  • Design, procure, program and install Gas SCADA remote terminal units
  • Maintain DOT inspection database and perform annual over pressure protection reviews

ADDITIONAL ANALYST FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify, improve and gathering analytical data to support and comprehend complex data into reliable and supportable reports
  • Design and implement Flow Cal data exchange
  • Construct applicable reports and documents utilizing Microsoft Windows based computer tools
  • Design, create and maintain SCADA Displays Perform routine maintenance on Gas SCADA servers
  • Design and implement FlowCal data exchanges
  • Analyze gas volume information and assist in gas measurement audits
  • Administer and maintain gas SCADA System database

Full-time position.

Engineer pay is $62,900 - $135,200 annuallydepending on experience; Analyst pay is $54,000 - $121,800 annually, depending on experience.
