Job Summary:
The Housing Support Specialist is a transdisciplinary team member that holds expertise in housing individuals diagnosed with severe and disabling mental illnesses (SDMI). Housing Support Specialists are out in the community, working one-on-one with clients to remove barriers and celebrate victories, leading to stabilization and integration. PACT clients are supported through wrap-around care in which every team member provides assistance with every single client. The Housing Support Specialist embraces, develops, and implements recovery-based principles with clients, the Program for Assertive Community Treatment team, and other clinical voices.
As a Housing Support Specialist, you will be providing positive role modeling through professionalism, timeliness, using ethical reflection, flexibility and commitment to appropriate and direct communications. You will conduct housing searches with individuals who may have substantial barriers to independent living, to secure placement in safe and satisfactory housing and advocate to prospective property management. Housing Support Specialists will attend community-wide housing meetings, collaborate with local homeless shelters, housing authorities, and property managers. Additional tasks will be checking in with clients to establish baseline, assisting with providing medication prompts, and other various tasks that breaks up the day.
Housing Support Specialists are fully integrated team members who provide highly individualized services on the PACT team and within the community. We promote client healing, self-determination, education, and awareness around one’s mental health. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of advanced education or equivalent work experience in tenancy-related services
Ability to pass background check and driver’s license check upon offer of employment.
Provide proof of auto liability insurance coverage per Western’s policies.
Montana Driver’s License with good driving record
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor’s degree with on-the-job experience in work-related services OR
Associates degree with 1 year equivalent work experience in tenancy-related services
