Intermountain Health Registered Nurse Cath Lab in Butte, Montana

Job Description:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures, Cardiovascular, and Imaging Departments.

This position works four 10 hour shifts per week. On call requirements are one weekend of call every 4 weeks.

  • Accurately access patient medical records

  • Input physician’s orders appropriately to patient’s records

  • Review documentation for ongoing patient care

  • Communicate patient record with ancillary hospital services

  • Takes responsibility for patient’s welfare at all times while in care of the Cath lab/Special Procedures Dept.

  • Reviews medical history and chart.

  • Reviews lab results, reports abnormal findings per protocol.

  • Determines patient’s condition and any adverse drug reaction problems.

  • Prepares necessary drugs and IV solutions for Cath/Special Procedures patient.

  • Circulates during procedure as required and assists physicians with catheters, instruments and drug administration.

  • Communicates current assessments of the patient’s condition to physicians and other health team members.

  • Provides an open line of communication between department and patient floors, auxiliary and support services.

  • Transports patients to and from Cath Lab/Special Procedure Department utilizing defined protocols including proper hand-off communication.

  • Maintains CPR cart/drug supplies/narcotic count daily.

  • Assures temporary pacemaker battery/laryngoscope batteries are charged monthly.

  • Assures drug cupboards are secured when department is unattended.

  • Analyzes dysrhythmias and other EKG changes.

  • Understands pressure waveforms.

  • Remains comfortable in all phases of the operation of the WITT Monitoring System.

  • Provides nursing care in Radiology Department when not busy in Cath Lab

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • BSN Degree * from an accredited program required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.

  • Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License

  • BLS Certification upon hire

  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire

  • Conscious Sedation required within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

  • National Certification in area of practice

Physical Requirements:

Speaking, hearing / listening, seeing, manual dexterity, climbing, lifting, walking, standing, pulling/pushing, carrying.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$32.50 - $77.71
