State of Montana Registered Nurse - Short Term, Full Time Hours in Butte, Montana

* *The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana Chemical Dependency Center. The Montana Chemical Dependency Center (MCDC) located in Butte provides intensive in-patient treatment that cares for the disease of addiction including withdrawal management for substance use disorders and treatment for co-occurring mental health disease. MCDC provides the highest level or most intense level of treatment for addictions in the health care continuum funded by the state of Montana. MCDC engages with all community partners who provide and support addiction and recovery services to continue the lifelong journey of recovery. This position provides nursing care to ensure patients of the Montana Chemical Dependency Center are safe and healthy. Responsibilities include observing and assessing patients’ health conditions; reviewing chemical dependency history and analyzing need for detoxification including breathalyzer and other drug screenings; assigning work to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Treatment Technicians (TT); and providing guidance and training as necessary. This is a short-term position and is not eligible for permanent status or state benefits such as sick, vacation or holiday time. Dependent on number of hours worked this position may be eligible for state health insurance benefits. Employment is expected to last up to 90 working days per year. This position will offer up to a full time schedule. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledge of nursing and medication. * Knowledge of patients’ rights regarding medical treatment. * Ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with protected health information. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Current Montana State Licensed RN. o One year of acute care experience preferred. o Other combinations of directly related experience may be considered. o Must have or willing to obtain prior to hire date a valid CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification card.
