We are a joint venture between GE Aviation and SeaCast LLC producing tube and duct assemblies and small structural castings for aerospace and commercial applications.     Job Summary:

    Accomplishes welding projects on time and ensures that quality standards are met. Follows all safety procedures. Completes other duties as assigned.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welds together metal components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing operations sheet (MOS), using electric arc-welding equipment.

  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

  • Cleans weld joints or workpieces.

  • Prepares rework parts for welding.

  • Chips off excess weld, slag, splatter using hand scraper or power chipper.

  • Positions or clamps workpieces together or assembles them in a jig or fixture.

    Job Specifications:

  • Mathematical Development : Must add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. Ability to calculate algebraic variables and formulas and have a basic understanding of trigonometry.

  • Reasoning Development : Must follow written, oral and graphic instructions, and deal with problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.

  • Language Development : Must be able to read and complete forms. Must apply safety rules when shipping equipment. Ability to read technical materials and apply principles to daily operations, which includes interpreting blueprints.

    What we look for:

  • Successful completion of a TIG welding training course or previous experience as a TIG welder.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to complete welding vision test

  • Ability to pass welding assessment

  • Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred


    Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in or be willing to take training in the following Basic Safety courses:

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Chemical Hazard (Hazcom – General)

  • Chemical Hazard ( Hazcom – Specific)

    Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels)

  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy

  • Occasionally lifts 25 – 45 lbs.

    Work Shift Hours

  • First Shift – Monday through Thursday: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM – Training shift

  • Second Shift – Monday through Thursday: 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM
