Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a TERM Electrician. This is a Term position not-to-exceed 13 months and may be extended up to 4 years total in 1 year increments. Duty Location: Canyon Ferry, Montana For living conditions go to: https://www.usbr.gov/gp/employment/living_conditions.pdf Responsibilities Locates trouble and maintains electrical equipment and circuits in high voltage substations and/or hydroelectric generating stations. Installs smaller equipment and devices and, along with other journeymen, installs larger equipment and more complicated devices required in such stations. Performs field tests, adjusts, connects, and services electrical equipment such as generators, motors, power transformers, distribution transformers, instrument transformers, power circuit breakers, various types of switches and switchboards, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and the simpler metering, relaying, recording, and control devices. Interprets, applies, and modifies facility drawings and manufacturer's instructions. Operates high-voltage switches and related devices in connection with work and in implementing the switching program set up by the dispatcher or similar person. Under emergency situations and/or in the absence of operations personnel, will be required to assume full powerplant and dam operational duties, including Standing Operating Procedures (SOP). Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position. A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency. Additional Information This is a term position that is temporary in nature as it has a specific time limitation (not-to-exceed date) which is for a period of 13 months and may be extended up to 4 years total in 1 year increments but can be terminated earlier or extended at management's discretion.
