Job Description
Qualifications:
Current Montana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
Current BLS / CPR Certification required as applicable to assigned area(s).
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Exhibits a commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork, and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others.
Exhibits knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to specific job duties, patient care, and safety. Complies with regulatory compliance requirements as defined for nursing care in the assigned area(s) and according to LH standards.
Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards. Maintains nursing standards of care and executes appropriate provider orders.
Performs a focused assessment of patient at regular intervals appropriate for the condition of the patient and under the direction of assigned leadership, and as ordered by the provider as applicable to assigned area(s).
Administers medications, treatments, provider-specified care, and intravenous therapy to patients in compliance with LH, nursing policies and procedures, and scope of practice.
Reassesses the patient to monitor status, identify changes in vital signs, lab work, and implements interventions as ordered or defined. Assesses and evaluates the patient responses to treatment or therapy in compliance with LH and nursing policies and procedures.
Communicates appropriate and critical changes in the patient’s condition, status, and findings to the appropriate provider in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures and/or provider orders.
Documents in the chart all clinical findings in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulatory mandates to maintain compliance with LH and nursing policies and procedures or as defined by regulatory requirements.
Exhibits competency/currency as applicable in assigned area(s).
Exhibits knowledge of staffing standards and a demonstrated commitment to cost containment with all resources.
Performs administrative and technical skills in an organized and accurate manner according to policy and procedure as applicable to assigned area(s).

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
