Logan Health SEASONAL RN Critical Access & Emergency Department in Chester, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position, in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, provides primary care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. Provides physical and psychological support to patients, families and friends, while overseeing assigned team members, as applicable.

Seasonal Position Details:

  • Full-time work schedule required for at least 13 weeks

  • 15% premium on base pay (Seasonal Premium)

  • $1,000 bonus after 30 days in position

  • $1,000 bonus after 60 days in position

  • $2,000 completion bonus after the 13-week assignment

  • No health benefits, but eligible for 401(k)

    Seasonal Minimum Qualification:

  • Experience in the ER is required.

  • Med/Surg experience is preferred, and Long-Term Care experience is a plus.

  • A self-starter with a passion for rural healthcare and a commitment to excellence.

Other Qualifications:

  • Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required.

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license required.

  • BSN degree preferred.

  • Certifications:

  • Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR and/or BLS certification required.

  • Status Employees: NRP, PALS, and ACLS required within 12 months of hire; TNCC or ENPC and STABLE within 18 months.

  • PRN/Seasonal Employees: PALS, ACLS, and TNCC required at start.

  • Additional certifications may be required based on assigned areas.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of nursing theory, medical terminology, and patient care principles.

  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and infection control practices.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.

  • Attributes:

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling sensitive situations with professionalism.

Job-Specific Duties:

  • Patient Care:

  • Cross-trains in multiple areas, including Acute Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, and Outpatient.

  • Provides goal-oriented, individualized nursing care and performs unit-specific competencies within RN scope of practice.

  • Assessment & Documentation:

  • Conducts patient assessments and documents care accurately in the electronic health record.

  • Transcribes and implements provider orders efficiently.

  • Safety & Compliance:

  • Adheres to infection control and safety protocols and reports changes in patient conditions.

  • Education & Teamwork:

  • Educates patients and families on health needs.

  • Assists in orienting new personnel and participates in ongoing training.

  • Professional Development:

  • Maintains knowledge of nursing practices and completes required competencies.

Specific duties may vary based on departmental needs, and additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Attendance:Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Variable - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
