Description:GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Clerical support required to administer the operations of the office of disaster and emergency services. Assist in coordination and day-to-day responsibility for the disaster and emergency program of Blaine County including the incorporated municipalities. This position performs administrative duties in support of Blaine County Emergency Management Department, and staff, and serves as a core member of the Emergency Management Team.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduation from accredited high school or GED program, with sufficient training and at least one year of successful experience. An appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptableSPECIAL LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Montana driver's license, with acceptable driving record. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Have the ability to assume leadership role in coordination of activities of various segments of the community. Have the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive written plans and to accomplish stated goals and objectives. Have basic knowledge of community resources, equipment and personnel. Have ability to coordinate activities and motivate diverse groups to a common objective. Have ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to operate a personal computer, printer and software programs including wordprocessing, database and spreadsheets. Have the capability to acquire and comprehend principles of emergency management and disaster planning, whether through home study or formal training courses. Have the capability to acquire and comprehend ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Online and mobile GPS/GIS devices. Required to interact with the public, supervisors, and other employees in a professional, courteous manner at all ties.
