DUSTIN HOFELDT General Ranch Hand in CHINOOK, Montana

Temporary full time job from 2/1/2025 to 11/30/2025. The General Ranch Hand position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of cattle, hay, and cereal grains crops. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain to determine delivery time, assist in delivery and night calving, apply or administer medications/vaccines, ; place mineral blocks; operate skid steer; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; maintain records on animals; help move cattle to summer range; occasionally ride and perform duties on 4 wheelers. General farm work will include making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery; operate 4 wheel drive tractors for the working of farm ground for crops. The hay production season will require use of front wheel assist tractors, rakes, balers and rotary swather. The harvest of cereal grains crops will require the use of grain trucks to haul and move crops. General repair/replacement of fencing and farm structures on an incidental basis; perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Driving is required on employers property, no license required.
