Columbia Grain, LLC Warehouse Operator Associate in Chinook, Montana

Warehouse Operator Associate. 10 temporary/full-time positions with Columbia Grain International, LLC from 11/19/2024 - 3/1/2025.The Warehouse Operator Associate will be responsible with assisting the Warehouse Operator with daily production tasks. These tasks include helping the Warehouse Operator with recording data pertaining to receiving, storing, processing, and shipping pulses within the plant. As a Warehouse Operator Associate, you will support the team toward operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiencies. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Assist with operating production equipment; Accurate weighing and recording of pulses in computer system by truck or rail; Assist with accurately taking samples of all unloaded and loaded pulses; Remove products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines; Assist with keeping charts indicating location and contents of storage tanks and bins; Complete and accurately monitor grades by weighing grain samples and recording results; Prepare rail car for loading; open/close rail car lids using anti-fall harness (safely exit the rail car height: 15-20 feet); Ensures compliance with the FSMS systems, HACCP and appropriate SQF programs at the direction of management; Assist all equipment including repair, periodic maintenance, and service. Including documenting in web-based maintenance program; General housekeeping and upkeep of working area to include; sweeping, shoveling, vacuum, compressed air, and sanitation; and Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followedMust regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 110.23 lbs. Must be able to work in high places and confined spaces (height up to 100 feet) Must be able to move freely throughout the operations plant to include walking on elevated platforms, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crawling. Required to wear protective equipment to include hard hat, safety glasses, protective footwear, gloves, coveralls, and other PPE as required. Occasionally required to taste and smell. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use. Post-hire background check required of foreign and domestic workers. Work schedule is at least 5 days per week with exact daily work hours varying by day and work days varying by week to include Saturday and Sunday. We will offer at least 40 hours in a typical workweek. Hours in excess of 40 will vary depending on staff, production quotas, and other factors to be evaluated on a daily basis. Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment and operating a forklift is preferred but not required.On-the-job training will be provided to the worker.Employer pays in advance or reimburses workers in the first workweek for all government-mandated and visa-related fees (excluding passport fees). For non-local workers (i.e., residing outside normal commuting distance), employer reimburses inbound travel costs at the 50% point in the contract (unless paid in advance). Inbound travel includes transportation costs from worker’s permanent residence or place of recruitment, a daily meal subsistence (based on rates required by law, currently $15.88 per day minimum or $59.00 per day maximum for workers with acceptable receipts), and reasonable lodging costs, if applicable. Travel reimbursements based on least-cost common carrier rate. Employer provides or pays outbound travel costs upon completion of the contract period or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequent employment. Employer guarantees to offer hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 6-week period of the total contract period, beginning with the worker’s first workday and ending on the contract end date or any extension thereof. Employer may count all hours worked, as well as any hours offered within the standard work schedule that a worker chooses to not work, up to the maximum number of daily hours on the job order.Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment for outbound travel costs or the full three-fourths period guarantee described above.Employer provides without charge all tools, supplies and equipment (incl. uniforms, if applicable) necessary to perform duties assigned. If requested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging.JOB LOCATION:40355 US Hwy 2, Chinook, MT 59523, 890 US Hwy 2, Chester, MT 59522 and 4458 HWY 16 S, Plentywood, MT 59254 in Blaine, Liberty and Sheridan counties. Employer may deduct reasonable costs for daily transportation to/from worksite from designated pick-up location. Use of employer-provided transportation is voluntary.WAGE INFORMATION:Wage rate is no less than $18.23 per Hour. Overtime hours vary at: $27.35 per Hour. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. The payroll period is 5th & 20th. Workers are paid by check on 5th & 20th. The standard work schedule is from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer-arranged housing (cost TBD). Daily transportation to and from the worksite from a centralized designated pick-up place will be offered at a reasonable cost to workers. The use of this transportation is voluntary. Employer may deduct retirement/savings plan contributions and/or health insurance premiums for workers voluntarily participating in plan(s). Uniform provided at no cost. Employer may deduct cost for lost/damaged uniforms resulting from worker negligence, or voluntary purchase of additional uniforms for worker's benefit.
