Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking to fill an AF Package Line Operator position at our Columbia Falls MDF facility.

Key Functions
- Support manufacturing by operating the AF Package Line to maintain a steady flow of units through at full production pace and to customer specifications.
- Grade and treat MDF boards to produce the highest quality boards possible.
- Responsible for knowing panel grades, stamps and flows; and monitoring the AF systems and reporting any problem to maintenance/proper department personnel.
- stenciling units with the correct identifying information; generating tickets for units and placing them on units; pulling defective boards form units and replacing with good boards; entering information into the computer; operating forklifts to move boards and material.
- Learn the duties of the AF Forklift Operator, and Bander; as well as learn panel grades, stamps and flows.
- Operate, service and maintain equipment; including but not limited to performing pre-shift inspections; adjusting feeder, sander and bins; checking/verifying operating air pressure.
Complete paperwork in an accurate and legible manner, including generation of unit tickets.
High School Diploma
- Forklift Certification required
Specific Skills
- Knowledge of panels grades, stamps and flows to maintain the flow and organization of product through the AF Package Line.
- Ability to maintain the flow of units through the AF and package line at full production (capacity) and to customer specifications.
- Ability to operate, service and maintain equipment; included but not limited to performing pre-shift inspections; adjusting feeder, sander and bins; checking/verifying operating air pressure.
- Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate and legible manner, including generation of unit tickets.
- Ability to maximize the quality of product and minimize loss to the company.
- Ability to work with little direct supervision and be self-motivated. Ability to work closely with others; be a team player/leader; demonstrate good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge and willingness to use safety standards, use lockout procedures and wear necessary PPE.
- Ability to maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety and attendance records.
- Willingness to work any shift, work on short notice, work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor.
Physical Demands
- The position of AF Package Line Operator is a Heavy-Duty job involving exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds frequently, and /or up to 20 pounds continuously to move objects. The position also requires the ability to stand and walk on a frequent basis, push/pull up to 100# of force, stoop, bend, squat, and climb on/off forklift.
