Overview: Nomad Global Communication Solutions is a leading provider of communication and response products, serving a variety of customers. Our purpose is to be the solution when every minute matters and we are seeking an internal candidate for an Electrical Assistant Team Lead position.

The Electrical Assistant Team Lead is responsible for key contributions in completing projects within the assembly process. The expectation for this role is to support and play an integral part in achieving on-time delivery of customer products, including the completion of electrical components and successfully assisting in the management of the Electrical Team.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • In the absence of the Electrical Team Lead, ensure that safety, efficiency, and delivery goals are met.

  • Assist the Electrical Team Lead in determining, if necessary, schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, the quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel as necessary.

  • With the Electrical Team Lead, inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.

  • Monitor Team Members’ compliance with production schedules and review workmanship to ensure it meets Nomad standards.

  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain 120/240V AC and 12/24V DC electrical systems or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.

  • Test electrical systems or continuity of AC and DC circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning AC and 12V systems, apparatus, or components, using, visual inspection and test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Inspect and test AC and 12V electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and computer software.

  • Diagnose and/or repair problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators and leveling systems.

  • Run wires and cables for AC and DC systems and controls.

  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.

    Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and work collaboratively with others.

  • Demonstrate understanding of Nomad production processes.

  • Mechanical — machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Design — design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Customer and Personal Service — principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Troubleshooting — determining causes of operating errors in electrical systems and deciding what to do about it.

  • Systems Evaluation — identifying measures or indicators of system performance and quality and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.

  • Be innovative, a self-starter, dependable, and able to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities.

  • Have strong PC skills and knowledge of E2, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Demonstrate good communication, organizational, and time management skills.

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.

  • At times, the employee will be required to work at heights up to 20 feet.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

    Working Environment:

  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.

  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.

  • The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by MSDS.

  • All Team Members must wear OSHA-approved safety glasses and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 1+ years of experience at Nomad GCS required.

  • 2+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience OR 2 years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience outside of Nomad GCS AND secondary education certification specific to electrical.

  • 2+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.

  • 2+ years of experience reading and following CAD.

  • Ability to train and mentor other team members.
