The Details: Positions start in April and extend through mid- to late-September (dates depend on Location). Start Date: April, 2022 Employment Type: Seasonal (full season or early/late season) Schedule: Varies – 40+ hours per week. This position will be expected to work a variety of hours. Responsibilities A day in the life of the Assistant Location Manager Assist with oversight of all off duty employee personnel issues and opportunities including employee housing, organization of employee recognition, events and outings. Greet new staff and give short tour of the housing area, rules, and regulations. Create events, promote and manage employee recreation program. Assist with oversight of the employee housing cleaners to ensure standards are maintained in employee housing as well conduct weekly employee housing inspections. Work closely with Human Resources and departmental managers to ensure employee experience expectations are met. Including housing, recreation, safety, and performance. Ensure that all employee complaints, regardless of the issue, are turned over to the Human Resources Department immediately. Respond positively and empathetically to all guest complaints with the objective of solving the problem to the satisfaction of both the guest and the Company prior to the departure of the guest. Work with the Location Manager and department managers and directors to ensure departmental standards are frequently monitored and are met or exceeded. Assist with the immediate follow-up of all deficiencies noted on National Park Service Evaluations. Ensure that proper lost and found procedures are followed by all personnel at the location. Assist with evaluation of safety concerns throughout all departments, and inside and outside housing buildings. Maintain a daily manager’s log of all events taking place on location. Entries into the manager’s log are to be professional and represent an objective view of all employee and guest issues that have taken place during the course of the operating season. Enforce all Company policies and procedures as determined by Xanterra Parks and Resorts. Act as the Location Manager on their days/time off. Any other duties as assigned by the Location Manager or General Manager. Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra Driver Safety Program and Policy. Qualifications Essential Skills and Knowledge: This position combines the best of hospitality management, employee engagement, and housing operations. Ideal candidates will have outstanding leadership skills. Location Managers must be able to demonstrate excellent organization, time management, must be goal oriented, and have strong interpersonal communication skills. Location Managers must be flexible and adaptable to dynamic situations and have good decision making and problem-solving skills. This position deescalates high pressure situations in regards to guest’s visits and employee life. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging environment for our on property seasonal employees. This includes creating a variety of events and programs throughout the summer. Employee engagement and guest satisfaction is crucial to ensure a successful summer in Glacier National Park. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand and/or walk up to eight hours per shift. Requires bending, kneeling, stretching and reaching throughout a shift. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, including icy and snow covered areas. Working safely with required chemicals. Disposition suitable for extensive public contact.
