The Director of Supply Chain at Nomad GCS spearheads strategic and operational enhancements across procurement, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing. This role is crucial in developing a robust supply chain strategy that aligns with our business goals, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless integration with key departments such as Finance, Engineering, and Production. With a focus on continuous improvement and risk management, the Director leverages innovative processes and technologies to optimize operations and performance metrics. Their extensive supply chain expertise, strategic insight, and leadership are vital in advancing Nomad GCS's commitment to delivering timely and effective solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Develop and lead a high-performing team to meet company objectives, ensuring professional growth through mentoring, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative culture.

  • Set departmental goals, oversee budgets, and manage resources to meet financial and operational targets.

  • Drive organizational change, ensuring smooth transitions as the company evolves.

  • Hire, train, and manage supply chain personnel, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.

    Strategic Development:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a cohesive supply chain strategy that aligns with company objectives.

  • Critically analyze and benchmark current practices against industry best practices.

    Operational Management:

  • Oversee all supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations.

  • Ensure seamless execution of production requirements through effective materials management.

    Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Lead and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the alignment of their performance with organizational goals and quality standards. Develop and implement supplier performance metrics, conducting regular evaluations and audits to drive continuous improvement and mitigate supply chain risks.

    Cross-Departmental Integration:

  • Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Production, and other departments to ensure integrated and efficient operations across the company.

  • Maintain high data accuracy within the ERP system to support effective decision-making and reporting.

    Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement innovative and effective processes and technologies to enhance supply chain operations.

  • Define key performance indicators to measure and improve supply chain effectiveness.

    Risk Management and Response:

  • Develop strategies to minimize risks such as shortages or excessive inventory, ensuring robust inventory control with a target variance of below 1%.

  • Respond swiftly to production challenges regarding material shortages.

    Team Management and Development:

  • Hire, train, and manage supply chain personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Ensure professional development and high performance through constructive feedback and evaluations.

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

  • In-depth knowledge of MRP systems, inventory control, logistics, and the latest supply chain best practices.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning capabilities, with proficiency in translating data into actionable strategies.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Familiarity with advanced ERP systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate across various levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods as required by task assignment.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors, necessary for both office tasks and production work.

  • Must have the physical stamina to adapt to varying workload demands and stand or sit for prolonged periods depending on the specific tasks of the day.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is split between a partially environmentally controlled indoor manufacturing area and a professional office setting. Temperatures in the manufacturing area can fluctuate between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F in the office.

  • Exposure to varying noise levels from moderate in the office to loud on the production floor; safety hearing devices provided as needed.

  • Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals with adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required. Safety glasses and closed-toed shoes are mandatory when on the production floor.

  • Regular interaction with team members, guests, and clients in a professional setting. Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.

  • Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators or protective coveralls may be necessary for specific tasks on the production floor.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of strategic development and operational improvement.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred.

  • Previous senior leadership experience required, demonstrating successful team management and project implementation.
