Responsibilities A day in the life of the Parkwide Carpenter Assistant: Support role to Parkwide Carpenter with the planning, scheduling and implementing the workload. Clean work areas, machines, or equipment to maintain a clean and safe work site. Follow OSHA and Xanterra’s environmental practices, safety practices, and policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential Skills and Knowledge: Our Parkwide Carpenter Assistant will assist with installation, repair and upkeep at all property locations. Parkwide Carpenter Assistant should have a minimum of 1 year general maintenance and/or carpentry experience. Seeking for a person that has knowledge of historic structures and preservation. Must possess a current and valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Our candidate must have the ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day. Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time. Working safely with required chemicals, tools, and equipment. Required to drive a company vehicle; a driving record check will be completed as part of the standard pre-employment background check.
