We are looking for an experienced Product Analyst to join our Timberlands Connected Forest team. The Forest Management IT Team is instrumental in supporting our Timberlands Operations. Our spatially-enabled systems empower our business partners to collect, steward, and utilize our foundational timberlands data in pursuit of sustainable and innovative forestry and business goals. The applications and data we manage and support are the core of our operations, and are used for managing our land use and timber holdings. Our systems are used to manage the full lifecycle of our forests from planting to silviculture to harvest to site prep and planting again.

We are seeking an IT Product Analyst II – Forest Management, who will be responsible for assessing business needs and providing technical recommendations that improve application solutions within our IT Timberlands Forest Management team. This position must work effectively with business customers and technical staff to define requirements and translate/document recommendations into functional and technical specifications. This role will plan, create, document, and conduct system testing and implementation activities, ensuring business requirements and functional specifications are implemented effectively and meet business objectives. Other expectations of this role include: providing Tier-3 application support and training to end users, troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of application issues, tracking and reporting on service metrics, and developing technology improvement plans. This position will provide support across our Timberlands operations and includes key participation in our major system upgrade, the FMS (Forest Management System) Next Gen project.

As IT Product Analyst II – Forest Management, you will have a customer-oriented, analytical approach with business users and their IT team members. This includes working within our enterprise processes for incident, problem resolution and change implementation. Requirements include building strong business customer partnerships and understanding the importance of delivering data and process standards across vendor purchased and custom developed systems.

This is an exciting and unique role thatcombines working daily with customers on solutions and business process improvements, while affording the opportunity to gain deep knowledge of the technology and business domains of Weyerhaeuser Timberlands.

*KEY FUNCTIONS *

  • Participate in project implementation for new functions or changes as they are released to end users.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects and timelines through the entire software development life cycle from requirements to implementation. Key contributor to large projects.
  • Analyze customer requests and determine functional solutions that incorporate end to end business processes across multiple applications.
  • Work with other IT resources to ensure application interfaces are working and analyze new application integrations.
  • Support functional discussions to determine how best to meet solution requirements including reporting needs, utilizing business intelligence (Power BI) or transactional SSRS application reports.
  • Work across enterprise IT groups and with application vendors to enhance application delivery for incident, problem and change enhancements.
  • Create and maintain application documentation including process & data flows.
  • Be results-oriented and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge and passion of IT solutions, new technologies and technology trends.
  • Receive, record, track and resolve support calls and requests related to Forest Management systems.
  • Support training efforts, including creation and delivery of training materials.
  • Have a base understanding of hardware, peripherals, network infrastructure and infrastructure as a service.
  • Provide backup support of key team functions including infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting.

*QUALIFICATIONS *

  • At least 2 years of relevant IT experience in project, infrastructure, or applications support.
  • Relevant experience, education, training and/or a degree in computer science, information systems, GIS, and/or experience in Business functional related fields of forestry or natural resources.
  • Service-oriented approach toward providing end-user customer support.
  • Strong communication skills, including being able to communicate effectively with non-technical resources on technical topics.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, peers, and management in person and over the phone for remote support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated progression in work responsibilities with the capability to grow beyond this role.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform business analysis, develop solutions for improvement and documentation technical requirements.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in forestry, harvest management, or other Timberlands operations.
  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), databases / data analysis, and scripting (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience supporting process & data standardization.
  • Understand Business Intelligence and data analysis/data mining.
  • Experience in cloud and SaaS-based vendor products.
  • Exposure to ITIL, Lean, Agile, and Scrum processes is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely via MS Teams

LOCATION

  • The preferred location is Seattle, WA. Alternate consideration will be given to Columbia Falls, MT and Hot Springs, AR.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,300 - $119,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
