VIAD REGIONAL SALES MANAGER in Columbia Falls, Montana

The Regional Sales Manager will plan and administer sales policies and programs that foster and promote hotel and group patronage. Manages and grows the following market segments: Golf & Ski Groups, SMERF, Leisure Groups and Corporate Accounts, Government Association contracts. Assists in other departments and with other responsibilities as required.

  • Focuses on growing and promoting SMERF and Corporate accounts, and the government associations segment of the Sales division.

  • Consults newspapers, trade journals, and other publications to learn about contemplated conventions and social functions.

  • Organizes prospect files by listing information, such as names of officials and plans for conventions, to be used for promotional purposes.

  • Collaborates with travel bureaus, business and social groups in preparing promotional correspondence.

  • Confer with department heads to discuss and formulate plans for soliciting business.

  • Contact executives of organizations to explain services and facilities offered by hotels and to solicit their business.

  • Follows company policies and procedures including our Always Honest policy.

  • Assists in other departments or with other responsibilities as required.

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One to two years related experience/training required.

  • A valid driver’s license and Passport are required.

  • Solid computer skills required; knowledge of SMS (Springer-Miller Systems) helpful and related software programs preferred.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.

  • Must possess the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations.

  • Responds promptly to customer & internal needs and requests.

  • Solicits customer feedback to improve service.

  • Effectively meets commitments to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of market, trends and competition.

  • Attendance of trade shows, functions, meetings, seminars, etc.

  • Indoor and outdoor venues may include working in periods of inclement weather.
