Reports To: Sales Chief of Staff

A Vertical Sales Manager develops and maintains relationships with Nomad GCS’ department leads, customers, and vendor partners, while understanding the sales methods and processes of the vertical team to deliver an exceptional quality experience to our customers. This position will manage KPIs in department and seek opportunities to improve efficiencies, exhibiting the ability to act fairly and decisively in a leadership role with the proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. This position also builds and maintains a team of sales professionals that will work and build relationships with our customers. Early on, this role will require a lot of individual contribution while building the team (90% individual, 10% management).

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

Be accountable to the Sales Chief of Staff for program budget reporting and delivering strategic plan. Meet with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding issues. Produce accurate and timely reporting of Vertical status throughout its life cycle.

Strategic

  • Serve as a profound expert in government sales, exhibiting extensive knowledge of Nomad's solutions and industry best practices, leading to innovative sales strategies.

  • Utilize the Nomad brand and voice to drive execution excellence in sales activities.

  • Develop a deep understanding of your assigned vertical, including industry trends, customer needs, competitor landscape, and potential opportunities.

  • Actively participate in market research and analysis to identify new leads and growth prospects reporting insights to the Chief Business Development and Sales Chief of Staff.

  • Set ambitious sales goals for your vertical, develop effective sales strategies, and implement action plans to achieve them.

  • Identify and qualify high value leads within your vertical, working closely with Business Development and other departments.

  • Coordinate the sales cycle for key opportunities, managing the timing of deals and determining when the Account Representative engages with qualified leads.

  • Track progress against goals, analyze sales data, and provide regular reports to management.

    People

  • Work with various Nomad teams to determine and implement robust cross-training initiatives.

  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Work with engineers and product experts to develop customized proposals that address clients' specific requirements and budgets.

  • Ensure team expenses, utilization, and performance align with budget and revenue projections.

  • Lead employee performance reviews and design improvement plans based on individual employee development needs and recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hires, terminations, disciplinary measures, or worker job-skill improvement.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with internal department leads, key customers, and vendor partners, ensuring alignment with Nomad's sales methods and delivering a frictionless customer experience.

  • Oversee and manage the vertical sales team, providing guidance and coaching to meet and exceed annual sales revenue goals.

  • Mentor and coach, the vertical sales team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, performance feedback, and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a Nomad ambassador, embodying the values and vision of the company in all interactions.

    Process

  • Ensure compliance with Nomad’s sales methods and processes, providing insights and recommendations for improvements to leadership.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive vertical sales revenue reporting to the Chief Business Development and Sales Chief of Staff.

  • Be proficient with HubSpot CRM tools, overseeing the management and documentation of all account data and interactions and ensuring 100% accuracy and utilization by the vertical team.

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

  • The expectation of travel as required supporting marketing objects, to attend seminars, promotions, etc. Travel will be at least 50%.

    Working Environment:

  • Typical indoor office environment, long periods of computer-related work, constant interruptions, and high levels of stress at times.

  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.

  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.

  • The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by SDS.

  • All Team Members must wear OSHA-approved safety glasses and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED. Further education in Sales/Marketing field highly desired.

  • Proven experience (5 years) in a Sales professional role.

  • Experience in individual account management.

  • Evidence of CRM use and adherence.

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record.

  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

  • Proven communication ability to build and lead effective and diverse teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Relevant experience with ERP/CRM applications is a bonus.
