NORTHERN MONTANA JOINT REFUSE DISTRICT HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/Truck Driver in CONRAD, Montana
Area Refuse Disposal District is looking for an Equipment Operator. This Operator will perform a variety of routine and complex skilled and semi-skilled work in sanitary landfill operations. This Operator will operate heavy equipment such as trucks, scraper, compactor, front-end loader, grader or specialized landfill-operations equipment, to facilitate operation of the sanitary landfill or transfer station. This Operator will maintain equipment connected with the landfill operations, including compacting equipment, scraper, front-end loader, track loader, grader, transfer trucks, containers, maintenance equipment, and fuel and lubricant dispensers, etc. Conducts onsite inspections and screens incoming waste for proper disposal, coordinates with other staff, assists in gathering reporting information and data required by State and Federal regulatory agencies, completes required reports, performs general custodial and maintenance duties of landfill operations site, and other duties as required or necessary. This Operator/Employee will regularly work in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to toxic chemicals or other risks. REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Driver's License and be able to obtain a CDL. High school graduate or equivalent and one-year related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Have a working knowledge of sanitary landfill operations and requirements; a working knowledge of safety operations; skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment; the ability to accurately screen incoming wastes; and the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and regulatory agencies.
