Logan Health Ward Clerk - Acute Care/CNA - Part Time, Evening Shift in Conrad, Montana

Job Description Summary:

Performs routine clerical work involving an element of skill and responsibilities in carrying out established procedures such as recording information, answering telephone, routine filing. Functions on a nursing care team by carrying out the basic patient care in accordance with philosophy, objectives, standards of care, procedures of the hospital and plan of care. Indirect patient care activities focus on maintaining the environment in which patient care is delivered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. • Possess the patience, self-confidence and communications skills necessary to work with the patients, clinical staff, administration staff and the physicians. • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

• Must be able to use the telephone, copy machine, computer and any equipment necessary to fulfill job description efficiently. • Is flexible regarding schedule due to emergencies and staff changes.

Responsibilities

• Courteously, identifies self when answering the telephone, directs phone calls to proper areas, responds to requests, correctly receives information and delivers messages in a courteous manner. • Prepares proper paper work and consent forms for all patient types.

• Copies patient information as needed.

• Files patient information in the medical record.

• Completes insurance verification as requested.

• Completes entire Medicare Secondary Questionnaire on Medicare patients.

• Maintains and updates census and daily charge sheets for all patients.

• Maintains patient charts with current paperwork to include doctor’s orders, lab, EKG, progress notes etc. • Make sure ER and outpatient log books are updated and correct.

• Registers and admits patients to the facility.

• Contacts other facilities for transfers, appointments, etc. for patients and prepares patient transfer documentation and copies of other pertinent information (lab, x-ray etc.) for transfer to other facilities.• Contacts on-call personnel as needed.• Assists and directs visitors, outpatients etc. to proper areas as needed.• Maintains and restocks supplies.• Offers patients information for signing up for patient portal.• Assists nurses, doctors, patients, and other staff as needed.• Assists in emergency room as needed; scribing information.• Puts charts together.• Reports problems and concerns to the D.O.N. Assists in developing and implementing corrective action.• Manages time and projects efficiently, to include documentation.• Assists in orientation of new personnel.• Completes health stream per MMC Policy.• Attend monthly staff meetings/read minutes and sign.• Carries out all other duties as assigned necessary to maintain quality and continuity of services, safety and security of premises.

Evening Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

3 Shifts, 8.5 Hours per shift weekly.

3pm-12am with rotating weekends & holidays
