Logan Health Rural Health Clinic Scribe/Medical Assistant (Cut Bank) (Teamsters) in Cut Bank, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position interprets and accurately transcribes dictations by providers in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services.


  • Minimum of one (1) year transcription experience required. Previous office and administrative experience preferred.

  • Superior knowledge of medical terminology required.

  • Typing skills of 80 WPM required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year previous health information experience preferred.

  • Patient care experience preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Accurately transcribes medical reports. Proofreads and ensures proper patient identity, facility, visit, document type, provider names, spelling and punctuation.

  • Accurately applies knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and grammar rules to each transcription.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new techniques, medications, and terminology in order to produce quality reports.

  • Performs research by reviewing the patient’s medical record and/or reputable sources to ensure correct terminology.

  • Continually strives to learn all document types transcribed by Health Information Management transcriptionists

  • Stays abreast of current and new software/hardware required to complete job tasks per department procedure.

  • Meets productivity standards as outlined in department protocol and procedures.

  • Meets Quality Assurance standards as outlined in departmental protocol and procedures.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
